FREMONT, Neb. (AP) - A Florida company plans to close three nursing homes in Nebraska.

Trillium Healthcare Group has notified residents and employees that it will close its Premier Estates operations in Crete, Fremont and West Point, likely in early August.

A Trillium executive deferred questions to Heath Boddy, who is president and CEO of the Nebraska Health Care Association. The association represents more than 90% of the senior care companies operating in Nebraska.

Boddy blamed two main factors for the closings: operating losses because of low Medicaid reimbursement rates, and finding enough workers to keep the facilities fully staffed.
