White House hopeful Beto O’Rourke can once again count on the support of Willie Nelson, the country music legend indicated Tuesday.

Mr. Nelson put his weight behind the Democratic presidential candidate during an interview on ABC’s “The View.”

“I love Beto,” said Mr. Nelson. “He’s a good guy and I’ve known him for a long time.”

Asked whether he will support Mr. O’Rourke’s campaign against President Trump, Mr. Nelson replied: “Anything he wants to do, I’m with Beto.”

Mr. Nelson, 86, campaigned for Mr. O’Rourke in November when he competed against incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, in the 2018 midterm elections.

The former Texas congressman narrowly lost to Mr. Cruz during the race by a margin of only about 1.4 percent.

“I hope I didn’t hurt him,” Mr. Nelson joked during on “The View.”

Mr. O’Rourke, 46, followed up his unsuccessful Senate bid by announcing his presidential campaign four months later. He is currently among a crowded group of more than 20 fellow Democrats seeking the party’s nomination to compete against Mr. Trump in 2020.

“There’s a lot of them out there that are racing for the same thing, and it’s hard to tell who’s where right now,” Mr. Nelson said about the candidates. “It’s going to take a while.”
