CHATSWORTH, Calif. (AP) - A man is dead after a two-seat airplane crashed into California’s Santa Susana Mountains outside of Los Angeles on Saturday.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it appears to be a privately owned aircraft.

Authorities found one adult male dead. There was no fire and no reports of other injuries.

Chatsworth is about 30 miles (48 kilometers) northwest of Los Angeles.
