Trent Williams is undergoing some unidentified medical procedure Thursday, according to his Instagram account.

NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay took a screenshot of Williams’ Instagram story, in which one photo appears to show Williams lying in a hospital bed with a doctor or nurse in front of him:

Williams did not report to the Redskins’ mandatory minicamp last week, and after initial rumors indicated he wanted a new contract, CBS Sports reported that Williams was frustrated with Washington’s medical team in particular.

Earlier in the offseason, news came out that Williams had to have a benign growth removed from his scalp.

“Well, I know he’s frustrated,” coach Jay Gruden said at the time. “Any time you have something done, the procedure like that of that magnitude, you want to find the reason. You wish something maybe could have been done differently or different timing. But our doctors are very good. I know they did the best they can. I know they have plenty of degrees. I know they did the right thing in their mind.”

Williams himself has not addressed his holdout publicly.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted that the procedure is a sort of “clean-up” for his scalp:

But that information has not been confirmed by the Redskins. It’s also unknown whether team doctor Robin West is performing the procedure.

Update: A team spokesperson told The Washington Times the Redskins do not have a comment on the matter.
