BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Louisiana man is accused of opening fire alongside rapper NBA YoungBoy in a 2016 nonfatal drive-by shooting.

The Advocate reports 21-year-old Turlondrick Norman was arrested Monday and charged with attempted second-degree murder.

NBA YoungBoy, whose name is Kentrell Gaulden, pleaded guilty to a firearm charge in the shooting and was sentenced to probation.

Another associate of Gaulden’s was arrested last week and charged with second degree murder in the 2017 death of rival rapper Gee Money.

The newspaper says the recent arrests are an attempt to crackdown on violence surrounding local rappers.

Authorities believe the rivalry fueled a fatal shootout in Miami involving Gaulden and his entourage. He’s set to appear in court next week for allegedly violating his probation by posting a threatening video on social media.
