YORK, Neb. (AP) - A California man has taken a plea deal in a Nebraska drug case.

York County District Court records say 33-year-old Casey Mullenaux, of San Pedro, California, pleaded no contest to delivery of controlled substances. Prosecutors dropped other charges against him in return. His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 12.

The York News-Times reports that Mullenaux was a passenger in a pickup truck towing a trailer last August when it was pulled over along Interstate 80 for failing to move to over when passing emergency vehicles. A York County Sheriff’s Department drug dog alerted officers to the presence of drugs in the trailer. Prosecutors say deputies found marijuana, cannabis wax and other drug-related items inside crates being hauled in the trailer. The items were valued at more than $1.5 million.
