Wizards point guard John Wall could be making progress in his recovery from heel surgery.

Wall sat courtside at the Washington Mystics’ 86-62 win Sunday, and photo evidence shows he was not wearing a brace on his heel, which he’s needed for quite some time.

Wall sat with Doug Williams, former Washington Redskins quarterback and current vice president of player personnel.

Wall elected for season-ending surgery in the winter to address nagging bone spurs in his left heel. Then, in late January, he ruptured his Achilles tendon when he slipped and fell in his home. The expected recovery time for the ensuing surgery was initially pinned at 12 months or more.

While no one is suggesting Wall is close to participating in any basketball activities, it’s an encouraging sign for Wizards fans to see him sitting comfortably without his foot in a boot, considering he often needed a mobility scooter in other recent public appearances.
