Women’s World Cup champion Megan Rapinoe managed to bring CNN’s Don Lemon into alignment with President Trump this week.

The U.S. women’s soccer star’s recent decision to refer to the White House as the “f—ing White House” prompted Mr. Lemon — a persistent critic of the president — to side with the Republican.

“I’m not going to the f— White House,” Ms. Rapinoe told Eight By Eight last month. “No, I’m not going to the White House. We’re not going to be invited. I doubt it.”

Mr. Lemon said it was logical for Mr. Trump to distance himself from the team after hearing Ms. Rapinoe’s rhetoric.

“I think he has a right to be upset if someone said that I’m not going to the, you know what, White House,” Mr. Lemon said Monday evening, Breitbart reported. “He has the right to be upset. … If someone said that about me, I’m not sure I would invite them into the place I was living.”

Ms. Rapinoe, the team’s co-captain, did accept an invitation by Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer to visit Congress.
