LYNN, Mass. (AP) - State police say two people were seriously injured when a car crashed into a bus stop in Lynn.

Investigators aren’t sure what caused the car being driven by a 32-year-old man to veer off the Lynnway shortly after noon on Tuesday and strike the pedestrians. They say another car may also have been involved in the circumstances leading to the crash.

Police say a woman who was in the bus shelter was flown by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital with injuries that were considered life-threatening. A man who also suffered serious injuries was taken by ambulance to Salem Hospital.

The driver of the car was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

State police say the investigation is continuing to determine whether charges will be filed.
