Washington Mystics star Elena Delle Donne suffered a broken nose Sunday against the Los Angeles Sparks and her status is considered day-to-day.
Delle Donne left Sunday’s game — a 98-81 loss — in the first quarter and did not return. The Sparks snapped Washington’s five-game winning streak, handing the Mystics their first loss since June 14.
It is not known if Delle Donne will play in Wednesday’s matinee against the Phoenix Mercury. The former MVP is averaging 15.8 points and 8.2 rebounds this season as Washington has soared to a first-place 9-4 start.
The WNBA announced last week that Delle Donne had earned the most fan votes for the league’s upcoming All-Star Game in the early portion of voting.
