SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Federal Aviation Administration is banning drone flights over Utah’s Tooele Army Depot west of Salt Lake City.

The FAA announced Friday that the depot is one of 11 “national security sensitive locations” around the country where airspace will be closed to drones.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the Tooele facility covers nearly 38 square miles and is responsible for storing, shipping, inspecting and maintaining ammunition. Workers there also design and make equipment used to destroy surplus munitions.
