LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) - Officials at Western Technical College in La Crosse are trying to develop a partnership with a Chinese university.
The La Crosse Tribune reports a delegation from Harbin University in the Heilongjiang province toured Western Technical College on Wednesday along with representatives from Wisconsin Technical College System and the University of Wisconsin System.
Mark Tyler, president of the technical college system board, tells the newspaper that Western Technical and other Wisconsin colleges are working on exchange programs between the Wisconsin schools and Harbin for faculty and students.
Western Technical’s associate dean of integrated technology, Michael Poellinger, says the school is working to arrange a similar visit from a German delegation.
