Yasiel Puig’s time with the Cincinnati Reds was brief, thanks to a three-team trade Tuesday that sent him to the Cleveland Indians.
But in an ironic twist rarely seen in sports, Puig was still playing in the Reds’ game when the news broke — and he participated in a ninth-inning brawl with his erstwhile “teammates.”
For the second time this season, the Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates got into a benches-clearing brawl, with relief pitcher Amir Garrett leaving the mound and charging at the Pirates’ bench. Soon enough, there was Puig, in the thick of it:

That marked the outfielder’s final game in a Reds uniform. It’s unknown yet if Puig will face punishment for his role in the brawl, but this could lead to an unusual circumstance: starting his time in Cleveland with a suspension incurred with a previous team.
Yasiel Puig has been an Indian for like 15 minutes and now he’s in a brawl for the Reds. Nobody has a better legacy.
