PHOENIX (AP) - Some flights at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport are delayed due to a monsoon storm.

An airport spokeswoman says that as of 6 p.m. Tuesday, 20 arriving flights were delayed by thunderstorms in the area along with four departing flights.

High winds accompanied the heavy rain with downpours reported in Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, Queen Creek, Mesa, Gilbert and Chandler.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash-flood watch for the entire Phoenix area until 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Arizona’s annual monsoon season usually runs from June 15 to Sept. 30.
