MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch told viewers on Friday that Democrats will “do whatever we have to do” to make sure President Trump winds up behind bars.

The “Morning Joe” co-host told Joe Scarborough that “intellectuals” who worry about the rule of law need to realize that a “war” is on and Democrats will “not necessarily play fair” to win it.

“With all due respect to Michelle Obama, when they go low, we gotta do whatever we have to,” he said. “There are two takeaways from [former special counsel] Mueller as we go to war. Number one: The president broke the law, and when he’s out of office he can go and will go to jail. And number two: We are vulnerable with our election system. That’s our two things. We may not have won the battle of impeachment, but we’re going to win the war of putting him in jail — whatever we have to do — and we’re not necessarily going to play fair. And for all the intellectuals out there whose hair is going to go on fire — ’Oh, we’re becoming like them! We’re becoming like them!’ — we cannot lose the next election. We will go back 50 years.”

Mr. Deutsch then said it would be a new policy to call President Trump “un-indicted criminal Trump” instead of his proper title. His call to abandon the rule of law came less than 24 hours after former MSNBC host Krystal Ball told Hill.TV that the network is filled with people who peddle “feverish Russian conspiracy theories.”

“Just how much damage has MSNBC in particular done to the left?” she asked Thursday. “Now, this critique is not meant to be personal to the anchors and the commentators there, many of whom I know — some of whom are actually close friends having worked at that network for five years, but nearly all of whom got swept up in the ratings bubble that was feverish Russian conspiracy theories.”
