NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man who allegedly had a loaded gun in his luggage at a northern New Jersey airport is now facing charges.
Transportation Security Administration officials say the Easton resident had the .40 caliber handgun in his carry-on bag as went through a checkpoint at Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday morning. They say the gun was loaded with 16 bullets, including one in the chamber.
The man was taken into custody by Port Authority police. But his name and details on the charges he faces were not disclosed.
The TSA has seized 10 guns at Newark Liberty so far this year, after confiscating 14 in 2018 and six the previous year.
