HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont is weighing in on the presidential race, throwing his support to former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden.
In a series of tweets on Tuesday, the first-term Democrat says Biden will be “the kind of president we need now more than ever,” crediting him with fighting for “hard-working American families” his entire life.
Biden headlined a Democratic rally in Hartford shortly before last year’s election, urging voters to support Lamont and other Democratic candidates. At that time, Biden likened Lamont to a line of federal politicians from Connecticut who he described as real, authentic people who don’t belittle others.
Lamont on Tuesday noted Biden’s support for him during the final push of the campaign, adding how he’s grateful Biden now wants to challenge Republican President Donald Trump.
