Los Angeles Sparks guard Riquna Williams was suspended 10 games without pay after a domestic violence arrest in April, WNBA announced Tuesday.
Williams was charged with two felony counts: burglary with assault or battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. The case is ongoing.
The guard was arrested on April 29. The incident took place in December, when she allegedly forced her way into a Florida home and repeatedly hit ex-girlfriend Alkeria Davis and pulled her hair, the Associated Press reported.
Two men said they tried to break up the fight for ten minutes. When they separated them, police said Williams lifted a firearm from her car, placed it on the trunk, positioned it toward one of the men and said “you’ll get all 18” before speeding off.
The WNBA’s investigation included interviews with Williams and witnesses, in addition to consultations with experts in the domestic violence field.
The 29-year-old’s suspension is longer than Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner and Dallas Wings forward Glory Johnson’s seven-game suspensions for domestic violence in 2015.
