OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Police say a driver died after crashing his car in eastern Omaha.

The crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday on a city street just east of Interstate 480. Police say the northbound car ran off the pavement to the west, struck a stop sign, a fence and then a tree. Alcohol use and speed are being investigated as contributing crash factors.

He was pronounced dead at Nebraska Medical Center. Police identified him as 22-year-old Austin Johnson, who lived in Omaha.
