BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts State Police say a Holbrook man has been arrested for illegally owning 12 firearms and more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition.

State Police said Sunday that 53-year-old Stephen Buckman was arrested and his firearms, ammunition and assorted pills were seized.

It was not clear if Buckman is represented by an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

He faces charges of improper storage of firearms, 12 counts of illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and other violations.

Police say he doesn’t have a license to carry firearms or a firearms identification card.

Troopers searched Buckman’s garage bay and home in Holbrook on Friday. State Police say he’s a self-employed mechanic.

He’s in county jail, pending arraignment Monday in Quincy District Court.
