NBA commissioner Adam Silver said last month that the league office has moved away from using “owner” amid concerns the word was increasingly becoming considered racially insensitive.
That decision didn’t sit well with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.
On his radio show Monday, Smith ripped into the NBA with a rant that now has more than 1 million views on Twitter.
“It’s my house. I own it!” Smith said. “I don’t own you. But I own it. The idiocy In this politically correct world that we’ve living in where we’ve gotta literally have a discussion to a point where it becomes a media storyline, ’Oh my God, an owner says he owns his team.’ Ya’ll are smoking crack! Something is wrong with you people! What the hell has this world come to?”
