STROUD, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says murder complaints have been filed against a 39-year-old man in the slayings of his parents in their central Oklahoma home.
Authorities say two counts of first-degree murder were filed Wednesday against Shawn Pittman in the deaths of 65-year-old Mark Pittman and 63-year-old Pauletta Pittman. Formal charges have not been filed.
The OSBI says a double homicide investigation was launched Tuesday after officers discovered the bodies in their home in Stroud, about 50 miles (84 kilometers) northeast of Oklahoma City. Authorities described the couple’s son as a person of interest because he lived with the victims.
Shawn Pittman was apprehended Tuesday on a DUI complaint while driving a vehicle owned by Pauletta Pittman. Records don’t indicate whether he is represented by an attorney.
