JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) - An alleged Georgia gang member who had been considered armed and dangerous by the FBI has been arrested.
Authorities say 25-year-old Antariouse Caldwell was arrested Wednesday at a motel outside of Jonesboro. FBI Atlanta office spokesman Kevin Rowson says a woman recognized a tattoo on Caldwell’s neck and alerted authorities.
News outlets report Caldwell was wanted on an anti-racketeering charge of conspiracy to murder. On Monday, the FBI announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Caldwell had been eluding capture since authorities indicted him in October. His name was attached to a 2016 federal indictment charging 32 alleged Gangster Disciples, including a former DeKalb County police officer. The FBI says the gang is accused in 10 deaths and several attempted killings.
It’s unclear if Caldwell has a lawyer who could comment.
