BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Republican Sen. Kevin Cramer says he’s keeping his salary during the partial government shutdown , in contrast with the state’s other members of Congress.

Sen. John Hoeven and Rep. Kelly Armstrong, also Republicans, both say they’re donating their pay to charity while the shutdown is in effect. Hoeven is giving his to a National Guard foundation and a Bismarck homeless shelter.

Armstrong says he’s giving his to a center for abused adults in Bismarck.

Cramer’s office didn’t explain his position in an email to The Associated Press. He also collected his pay as a House member during a partial shutdown in 2013, saying at the time that he couldn’t afford to donate it.
