COLFAX, Wash. (AP) - The Whitman County Republican Central Committee has voted unanimously to eject far-right activist and former Washington State University College Republicans President James Allsup from its ranks.
The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reported that Saturday’s decision strips Allsup of the powers of his position of precinct committee officer, a role he obtained by running unopposed.
With his ejection, Allsup has no vote within the committee, though he retains the title of PCO under state law because he was elected.
A prolific YouTuber known for racist taunts, the 22-year-old Allsup gained attention in 2016 when he erected a “Trump Wall” on the WSU campus in Pullman, Washington. He marched with the alt-right group Identity Evropa at the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, where one counter-protester was killed in a vehicle-ramming attack.
