GREECE, N.Y. (AP) - Police in upstate New York say a woman has been found dead inside a burning town house.
The fire at the home in the Monroe County town of Greece was reported early Friday morning by a passer-by. Responding firefighters from the Rochester suburb forced their way into the building and found the woman’s body inside.
Officials say the fire was contained to the two-story building. Lake Shore Fire Chief James O’Coin says the cause of the woman’s death is unclear investigation and it isn’t known how the fire started.
The Monroe County Fire Bureau and Greece town police are investigating.
