LITHONIA, Ga. (AP) - Police say a customer has fatally shot an armed man trying to rob a dollar store near Atlanta.
Police in suburban DeKalb County tell news outlets the shooting happened Tuesday morning at a Family Dollar near Lithonia.
County police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer says a man walked into the store, pulled out a gun and demanded cash from two employees. Spencer says a customer shot the armed man as one employee was handing over money. Four or five customers were inside the store at the time.
Police say charges are not expected to be brought against the customer.
Authorities haven’t identified the customer or the man who was killed.
