CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) - A New Mexico county has approved switching back to a five-day work week.
The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports Eddy County employees, beginning Feb. 24, will once again be in the office five days a week instead of the four-day work week approved by the Eddy County Board of Commissioners in 2017.
District 5 Commissioner Susan Crockett supports for the four-day week, while District 3 Commissioner Larry Wood says commissioners spent two years talking about a four-day work week before deciding on it as a measure that would benefit county employees.
Crockett and Wood were the two dissenting votes.
The Eddy County Sheriff’s Office, Detention Center and Public Works Department remained open five days per week, even after the initial switch.
