AURORA, Colo. (AP) - A passenger is recovering after being thrown from a light rail train that derailed during a powerful snowstorm in suburban Denver.
Aurora police Sgt. Chris Carleton says the victim, whose name has not been released, was seriously injured after being “ejected” from the R Line train Monday morning. A few other passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police have not said what caused the derailment, but they are investigating if speed or weather played a role. They also have not said how the victim was thrown from the train or what type of injury was involved.
Several inches of snow fell in the Denver area during Monday’s morning commute.
