PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities in New Jersey say a man who shot another male in the face just outside of Atlantic City was found dead.
The Atlantic County prosecutor’s office says police were called to a Pleasantville home shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday and found a male with a gunshot wound to the face. A handgun believed used in the shooting was recovered.
Sixty-nine-year-old James Roberts was later found dead on the third-floor stairs. A handgun was found nearby but police don’t believe it was fired. Prosecutors say Roberts wasn’t shot despite initial reports to that effect. An autopsy is scheduled Monday.
The man shot in the face was taken to the AtlantiCare Medical Center trauma center. He told detectives Roberts shot him over a domestic dispute, but he disarmed Roberts, who fled.
