Roger Stone tells Infowars: ‘Twenty-nine FBI agents showed up at my home’

Roger Stone gave his first post-arrest interview Friday to Alex Jones, the right-wing media personality responsible for the controversial Infowars website.

President Trump’s former election campaign adviser, Mr. Stone discussed his arrest for the first time during a live interview conducted on “The Alex Jones Show” moments after he was released on bond.

“Alex, I can say I’ve had better moments — better mornings, shall we say,” Mr. Stone said during the telephone interview.

“Twenty-nine FBI agents showed up at my home, pounded on the door. I opened the door to pointed automatic weapons. I was handcuffed. There were, I don’t know, 17 vehicles in the street with lights on. They terrorized my wife and my dogs,” he said.

Mr. Stone, 66, spoke to Mr. Jones for roughly 30 minutes as a throng of reporters waited for him to leave a courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the longtime Republican operative had appeared before a judge less than an hour earlier.

“CNN, Fox News — they are all having conniption fits,” Mr. Jones said during the segment.

Mr. Stone regularly contributes to both “The Alex Jones Show” and Infowars. He was arrested at his Fort Lauderdale home early Friday in connection with a seven-count indictment unsealed by special counsel Robert Mueller as part of the federal government’s investigation into the 2016 presidential elections.

Prosecutors charged Mr. Stone with obstruction of proceedings, making false statements and witness tampering, making him the latest addition to a growing list of individuals indicted as a result of the special counsel’s ongoing probe. He said later Friday that he plans to plead not guilty.

Widely regarded as a fringe commentator, Mr. Jones, 44, was banned from YouTube and Twitter last year, among other platforms. He is currently the defendant in several civil lawsuits spurred by his coverage of the 2012 mass-shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
