Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican in an appearance on Fox News, called out the Democrats as more focused on trying to stop this White House’s agenda than on helping America or Americans.

Got that right.

Even Joy Behar of “The View” admitted as much. Well, not in so many words. But it was implied.

In a recent discussion among “View” co-hosts about the Covington Catholic High School media circus, Whoopi Goldberg asked. Fox News reported: “So many people admitted they made snap judgments before these other facts came in. Is it that, we just instantly say ’that’s what it is,’ based on what we see in that moment and then have to walk stuff back when it turns out we’re wrong — why is that? Why do we keep making these same mistakes?”

And Behar’s response?

“Because we’re desperate to get Trump out of office,” she said.

That’s quite an admission.

It’s rare for a leftist to come so clean, quite so publicly.

But that’s it, in a nutshell. That’s what’s happening on Capitol Hill, in the Democratic camps versus the Republican camps.

“The Democrats are completely focused on halting and stopping the Trump administration and not instead [on] where I think they should be focused, which is on helping the country,” Jordan said, on Fox.

Yes, remember the country? Please: Remember the country.

That a hard-core conservative like Jordan and a hard-core leftist like Behar could come to what’s in essence an identical conclusion is telling about how vicious the politicking has been in recent months.

Now if only more Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill could find that same common ground. And then do something about it. What a relief to the American voters that would be.
