BARTOW, Fla. (AP) - A Florida father has been found guilty of manslaughter and child abuse in his 4-month-old son’s death.

The Lakeland Ledger reports a jury found 27-year-old Robert Donte Graham criminally responsible for Princeton’s death. He’ll be sentenced in March.

Princeton died on New Year’s Eve 2014 after being brought to a hospital. His brain was swelling and bleeding, and his retinas had detached from his eyes - injuries doctors said could be inflicted only through shaking or jerking him around.

Princeton’s mother testified she didn’t notice signs of trauma when she dropped him off with Graham.

Graham has said he was responsible for Princeton’s injuries. He later testified that he may have been pressured into admitting involvement, and that he overstated his actions when he told detectives he’d slammed Princeton on a bed.
