DOVER, Del. (AP) - Officials in Delaware say a data breach at a third-party administrator for health insurance companies has affected five companies and 650 consumers.

The Department of Insurance announced Thursday that BenefitMall’s Oct. 11 breach has affected five companies in Delaware and 650 of their consumers.

Officials say people with health insurance with Highmark BCBS, Aetna, Emblem Health, Humana, or UnitedHealth should monitor their postal mail carefully. Aetna is notifying those impacted by the breach by mail and offering a free subscription to credit and identity monitoring services. Officials say other companies may do the same.

Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro says in a statement that the department will conduct further investigations.
