SLIDELL, La. (AP) - Louisiana authorities say a badly decomposed body found under an interstate bridge is likely that of a man reported missing in December 2017.

A crew picking up trash along Interstate 10 near Slidell found the remains Tuesday.

Slidell Police Detective Daniel Seuzeneau (soo-zuh-NOH) said in a news release Wednesday that property found nearby leads investigators to believe the remains are those of Tony Bennett, nicknamed Tiger. Bennet was 40 when he was reported missing.

Seuzeneau says Bennett was last seen at a motel in the area

He says investigators are working to confirm the identity and determine cause of death.

Authorities say there were no immediate signs of foul play.

Slidell is about 28 miles (45 kilometers) north-northeast from New Orleans, across Lake Pontchartrain.
