A number of media figures and celebrities have had second thoughts about condemning the Covington Catholic High School teens, but not actor Jim Carrey.
Mr. Carrey posted his own painting Tuesday of student Nick Sandmann and other boys with hostile facial expressions squaring off with Omaha Nation elder Nathan Phillips, adding the caption, “baby snakes.”

In Mr. Carrey’s painting, the word “great” on Mr. Sandmann’s hat has been replaced with “hate.”
Some commenters urged him to watch the full video of Friday’s incident, which showed Mr. Phillips initiating contact with the boys at the Lincoln Memorial by walking into their cheer circle as he sang and played a drum. He was accompanied by several other adults.
Others said that Mr. Carrey “nailed it,” calling his painting “brilliant.”
Mr. Carrey had not previously commented on the incident via his Twitter account, but others, including actress Jamie Lee Curtis and “Beauty and the Beast” producer Jack Morrissey, have said that they were too quick to condemn the boys and removed their tweets.
The crowd of teenage boys, some wearing red Make America Great Again hats, was waiting for a bus after participating in the 46th annual March for Life, while Mr. Phillips had attended the Indigenous Peoples March.
