ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - A Florida child protection investigator is in trouble for posting confidential information on a social media website.

The Tampa Bay Times reported the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office recently gave the employee a five-day suspension.

An internal investigation found that the child protection worker responded to a May 2017 Reddit thread discussing child protection cases.

The employee did not disclose the identities of anyone involved, but he did post details such as a child’s age and information about an injury that led to a lawsuit.

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said on Friday that he will not refer the incident to prosecutors because he doesn’t believe the employee of two years had criminal intent. Gualtieri told the newspaper that the employee was “just being stupid.”
