PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence firefighters have extinguished a fire at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

Hospital spokesperson David Levesque says nobody was injured in the Tuesday night fire. He says the fire was contained to the roof and no evacuations had to be made.

A Twitter page for the fire department says firefighters responded to the hospital at about 8:15 p.m. It says responders made “quick work” of the flames.

Levesque says the cause is still under investigation, but workers had been on the roof earlier in the day. He says an elementary-school aged brother of a patient reported the fire to officials.

The hospital remains fully functional and there was no interruption in operations.
