MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - A California health care IT company plans to relocate its headquarters to Georgia in a move that may create or move 500 jobs to the metro Atlanta area.
Gov. Nathan Deal’s office said Thursday that BioIQ will invest $5 million as part of its expansion in Cobb County. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the new jobs will include positions in operations, sales and technology.
Deal said in a statement that BioIQ has reach across the nation and has proven itself to be a leader in health care innovation. The statement says the company is currently based in Santa Barbara and works with 35 major health plans.
Deal says BioIQ will join Georgia’s thriving technology innovation sector and enjoy the benefits of their deep talent pool by locating its headquarters in Georgia.
