OPINION:
Some members of the Democratic Party recently brought Christmas into the illegal-immigration debate by claiming that Jesus was a refuge who went to Egypt to avoid being killed by King Herod.
They were making the case against a border wall and had to use Jesus when they felt it would help them. I’m not going to get into the illegal-immigration part of this, but am wondering why these Democrats did not mention the reasons Jesus and family had to flee to Egypt in the first place. Answer: King Herod put a hit out on all male boys age 2 and under in Bethlehem and the surrounding areas.
This sort of thing is still going on today with the government’s legalization of abortion, mind you. Of course, the Democrats wouldn’t use the abortion aspect of the flight to Egypt because it wouldn’t serve their selfish needs.
