CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Cheyenne woman has pleaded not guilty to helping her estranged boyfriend escape from jail.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports Jasmine Lieurance faces charges of conspiring to commit a felony and being an accessory after the fact to a felony crime.

Court documents say Lieurance’s estranged boyfriend, Randall Carr, devised a plan to escape custody while serving a sentence for domestic battery and reckless endangerment.

Carr became an inmate laborer at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. Records say Lieurance allegedly agreed to pick up Carr from the shelter.

Lieurance says Carr told her he was being released from jail. She says she didn’t believe him.

Carr walked outside where Lieurance was waiting. Carr got into Lieurance’s vehicle and they drove away. She then attempted to call authorities.

Officers took Carr into custody.

Lieurance, if convicted, could serve up to six years in prison.
