WATERBURY, Vt. (AP) - Work to restore one of the last three buildings at Vermont’s state office campus that was damaged by Tropical Storm Irene is complete.

MyNBC.com reports the 20,000 square-foot Weeks building in Waterbury will open to state employees next Monday after $7.4 million in renovations.

Hundreds of state employees had to be relocated after Weeks filled with floodwater during the August 2011 storm.

The building now has a modified basement with special drains and pumps to allow groundwater to be redistributed without causing damage.

Other building improvements include new furniture, lighting, windows and flooring.

The 122 employees in the Department of Vermont Health Access who are commuting to Chittenden County will move in next week.
