PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Rhode Island Airport Corp. has paid a more than $190,000 severance agreement to end a discrimination complaint filed by a former employee, according to a published report.
The Providence Journal, referring to records obtained through a public records request, reports that Patricia Goldstein alleged in her complaint that she was discriminated against based on her age and gender.
Goldstein, who served as senior vice president of external affairs, says CEO Iftikhar Ahmad embarrassed her publicly, excluded her from calls and cut her budget.
Without acknowledging wrongdoing, the corporation agreed to pay Goldstein $192,699 in exchange for her not pursuing any claims against the corporation.
The airport corporation, through its lawyer Joseph Whelan, denied the allegations of discrimination.
Goldstein says she is not at liberty to talk about the severance.
