TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Tiana Mangakahia matched her career high with 44 points and No. 17 Syracuse defeated No. 22 Florida State 94-88 on Thursday night.
Mangakahia, a junior guard from Australia, was 16-of-20 shooting and 10 of 11 from the free-throw line with eight assists and three steals. Kiara Lewis and Digna Strautmane had 10 points each for the Orange (21-7, 10-5 ACC), who shot 62 percent.
Nausia Woolfolk scored a career-high 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting for the Seminoles (21-7, 9-6). Kiah Gillespie added 20 points, Valencia Myers a career-high 19 and Nicki Ekhomu 12.
The Orange gave up an 11-point lead - their largest - in the fourth quarter but Mangakahia’s 3-point play with 1:05 remaining gave the Orange an 88-85 lead. She then went 6-of-6 at the free throw line to ensure the win.
Both teams have one regular-season game remaining on Sunday with Syracuse playing at Boston College and Florida State at Georgia Tech.
