OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say an Omaha man suspected of killing a woman before shooting himself has died.

Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas Wheeler of Douglas County said Wednesday evening that 61-year-old Jonathan Hartley had died of his gunshot wound.

The shootings were discovered Tuesday afternoon after a man called 911 Tuesday afternoon to report a shooting and then hung up. A deputy who arrived at Hartley’s northwest Omaha home within minutes found 28-year-old Ashley Stephens shot to death and the wounded Hartley.

Officials say Stephens and Hartley were believed to be in a domestic relationship.
