PITTSBURGH (AP) - Federal prosecutors say no charges will be filed in a bar fight last fall in Pittsburgh involving undercover police officers and members of a biker gang.
The U.S. attorney’s office for the western district of Pennsylvania announced Wednesday that no basis was found for federal criminal charges against the Pittsburgh officers.
Authorities say four undercover officers got into a brawl with members of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club on Oct. 12 at Kopy’s Bar in the city’s South Side neighborhood.
Four of the Pagans filed suit against the city, alleging that their civil rights were violated. The city and a citizens police review panel are investigating.
Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto said the detectives were placed on paid leave while local and federal investigations proceeded.
