GREENCASTLE, Ind. (AP) - DePauw University is cutting 56 full-time administrative positions and 17 part-time jobs as part of a restructuring for the Greencastle liberal arts school.

Board of Trustees Chairwoman Kathy Patterson Vrabeck and President D. Mark McCoy sent a letter to the university community Tuesday saying they’re making the cuts because DePauw cannot sustain the number of employees that it has.

Fifteen of the full-time positions currently are vacant, as are two of the part-time jobs.

Vrabeck and McCoy also say DePauw will offer a voluntary retirement incentive plan for faculty and make changes to sabbaticals.

They say no faculty or academic programs are being eliminated.
