BOSTON (AP) - A new commuter rail station has opened in Boston.
The Blue Hill Avenue stop opened in Mattapan Monday after it passed final inspections.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority says the station took two years to build and cost $16.9 million. Officials say it was completed “on budget and on schedule.”
The station sits on the Fairmount Line, which runs exclusively through downtown Boston.
The station includes passenger shelters, message signage and video surveillance.
