MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A woman convicted of robbery in Alabama has escaped from a work assignment.
News outlets reported the Alabama Department of Corrections said 48-year-old Fleurette Esmerelda Martin left a job assignment around 1 a.m. Monday.
She was assigned to the Montgomery Women’s Facility.
Martin had served more than 10 years of a 13-year sentence out of Jefferson County in 2008 and would have been eligible for parole in August 2020.
The women’s facility is a minimum security operation that has community employment opportunities for inmates.
