RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - Police say a man stabbed two bouncers and shot at them before he was subdued outside a restaurant in Southern California.

The Press-Enterprise reports a bouncer at Duke’s Bar and Grill in Riverside had stopped a man from entering because he avoided a search early Saturday.

Police say the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the bouncer in the abdomen. He then stabbed the second bouncer in the back and neck.

Police say the suspect fired a gun during an ensuing struggle, but nobody was hit.

The bouncers were able to hold him down until officers arrived.

Authorities say the victims were hospitalized with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Police say Hugo Cesar Garciao was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

It wasn’t immediately known if the 32-year-old has an attorney.
